Our Story
Ashgrove Skin Art opened in 2011 with two chairs, one autoclave, and a simple rule: draw everything custom, cut no corners.
Fifteen years later the shop has grown to three resident artists and a dedicated piercer, but the rule never changed. Every tattoo that leaves this studio starts as a one-on-one consultation and a drawing made for one body alone. No flash picked off a wall, no design repeated on a second client — your ink is yours.
We built our name on bold traditional work and crisp blackwork, and on telling clients the truth: if a placement will not age well, if a piercing does not suit your anatomy, we say so before the needle comes out.
Sterile, Always
Safety is not a selling point here — it is the floor. Our sterilisation routine runs on hospital protocol, and every client is welcome to watch any part of it.
- Single-use needles and cartridges, opened in front of you
- Autoclave-tested instruments with logged cycle results
- Fresh barrier film on every surface, every client, every time
- Implant-grade piercing jewellery, never mystery metal
- Written aftercare for every piece, with free check-ups
How a Piece Comes Together
Consultation
Talk through your idea with an artist. Sizing, placement, budget, and honest advice — free, about 20 minutes.
Custom Drawing
Your artist draws the piece for your body alone and sends the sketch for approval before booking day.
Session Day
Stencil, placement check in the mirror, then ink. Breaks whenever you need them, snacks on hand.
Healing & Touch-up
Written aftercare, a free check-up at six weeks, and one complimentary touch-up within a year.
